Google Cloud Platform

Thanks to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google’s cloud computing services suite, Sidea Group – with a dedicated and specialised team – is able to quickly and efficiently develop apps, exploit the potential of machine learning and connect people and tools with the most advanced digital communication channels.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a suite of cloud computing services that Google uses internally for its end-user products.

Main advantages:

  • fully scalable service
  • high infrastructure reliability
  • state-of-the-art hardware and software thanks to constant updates from the provider
  • data security

GCP features

  • Computation

Google has created a network of incredibly high-performance data centers for minimal response times and high scalability. The high performance that Google is able to offer allows for over 100,000 events to be managed per second and a total load of operations that can exceed 100 MB/sec.

  • Google Cloud: data centers

Google has over 100 points of presence in 15 regions around the world, connected to each other through fibre optic networks.

Thanks to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) services, GCP resources can be fully integrated or completely isolated. Through Cloud Delivery Network (CDN), data is distributed between the various points of presence at the edge level, while Cloud Load Balancing, the same used by Google for its search engine, allows an optimal distribution of the load between one location and the other by balancing HTTP(S), TCP/SSL and UDP traffic.

Finally, customers who need to connect their private clouds to GCP can use Google Cloud Dedicated which provides connections to GCP with transmission capacity between 10 and 80 Gbps

  • Storage/Disk

For data storage, Google offers Cloud Datastore to manage NoSql databases, Cloud SQL for relational databases, and Cloud Storage for long-lasting file persistence.

The storage part consists of Cloud Datastore (to save non-relational NoSQL data), Cloud SQL (to manage MySQL relational databases) and Cloud Storage (a durable and highly available storage service).

  • Network

From high-performance options such as Dedicated Interconnect and Partner Interconnect to Cloud VPN, suitable for lower volumes, to direct and operator peering options, Google Cloud hybrid connectivity solutions can meet most cloud infrastructure market needs.

Google is able to cover and meet all customer needs thanks to services such as Dedicated Interconnect and Partner Interconnect for very high performance and Cloud VPN for lower volumes.

Network Connectivity Center provides the ability to easily connect on-premises networks, Google Cloud and other enterprise cloud networks and manage them as spokes through a single hub centralised on Google Cloud. Provisioning is also possible using Google’s global network. The VPC network includes a granular selection of IP address ranges, routes, firewalls, virtual private networks (Cloud VPNs), and Cloud routers.

Thanks to the Network Connectivity Center, Google lets you create any kind of network, integrating on-premises networks or corporate cloud networks with Google Cloud and manage them through a single centralised hub.

Cloud DNS, a scalable and programmable service to manage domain name conversions to IP addresses, is the same used directly by Google. You can publish and manage millions of zones and DNS records.

  • Security

For identity and security management, two important aspects on the cloud, Google provides tools such as Cloud Key Management to manage symmetrical and asymmetrical encryption keys, while Cloud Data Loss Prevention is provided to protect sensitive data.

Finally, the entire platform adopts a specific compliance model between the various geographical regions that allows for the correct management of data privacy and adheres to the various directives such as HIPAA (US) or GDPR (European).
